Born in a back bedroom in 1995, the pioneering firm now have clients ranging from local clubs to international stadiums
PROMOTIONAL FEATURE
From humble beginnings, Dura-Sport's rise to industry leader is quite remarkable.
The company are celebrating their 30th anniversary, counting everyone from local cricket clubs to international stadiums among their clients.
But their impressive portfolio isn't a coincidence. As cricketers themselves, they know what it takes to make a top class non-turf wicket, and this ethos has carried them through three decades.
"It is a balance of art and science," says Dura-Sport co-owner, Richard Key.
"Ensuring that every pitch meets the unique requirements of cricket players, whilst also being practical, durable and cost effective.
"Over the years we have invested heavily in research and development to perfect our designs, using only the highest quality materials to provide the most consistent performance.

"Being cricketers ourselves, we understand that a good non-turf pitch is more than just a playing surface, it’s a platform where players hone their skills, showcase their talents, and experience the game at its best.
"The key requirement for both practice and match play is consistency, this provides the confidence and assurance that players need to flourish to the best of their abilities."
Dura-Sport are pioneers too. More than 12 years ago, they developed the first ever non-rurf pitch that looked like a natural turf surface, rather than just a green strip.
The DSi-pro ‘Vision’, designed to replicate the appearance of a well-prepared natural turf pitch, was born. It's testament to Dura-sport's commitment to giving their clients value for money that the very first installation of the Vision is still going strong now.
Building to last is also at the forefront of the company's DSE system, an engineered base system designed with drainage efficiency and ground stability in mind - essential given the UK's climate - which is constructed to handle heavy and prolonged rainfall, rapidly draining water away and preserving the structural integrity of the pitch.

Dura-Sport can also offer facility design to meet the widest range of performance and budget options.
They are the only company to hold ECB Approved Systems which utilise both our unique DSi-weave superior Wilton woven surface as well as more economical tufted monofilament surfaces, all proudly manufactured in the UK.
"As we look to the future, our commitment to innovation remains as strong as ever," adds Key.
"We are excited to continue pushing boundaries of non-turf cricket pitch design. With new technologies and materials on the horizon, we are constantly refining our approach to ensure that we stay at the cutting edge of industry.
"Sustainability is also a key focus moving forward. We are exploring eco-friendly alternatives and sustainable practices in the design and construction of our pitches, ensuring we provide the best possible solutions while minimising our environmental footprint.
"As we celebrate 30 years of success, and reflect on this remarkable journey, we are very proud of the reputation we’ve built and the positive impact our innovations and design have had on the cricketing world."
