Hopefully the England players and coaches will have noticed that there is an Ashes series this summer.

Not sure the 50 over game isn't living on borrowed time. All the franchises seem to be concentrating on 20-20. Crowds for test cricket outside England seem to be on the wain. 50 over requires people to take time off work whereas 20-20 can take place in an evening. Team sport in general is played outside normal daytime working hours for that very reason. I still feel the original John player 40 over gave us the best white ball format. It gives time to build an innings without having the mid innings hiatus of 50 overs where nothing much seems to happen as both sides seem content to build initiative rather than take it. The more you tinker with a format the more complicated it becomes and the less you engage the pundit.
