Former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has been recalled to Pakistan's T20 squad for the three-match series against England.

Shoaib Malik joins the squad after testing negative for coronavirus upon his arrival in the United Kingdom.

Naseem Shah is in line to make his white-ball international debut following his inclusion, there is a return for Fakhar Zaman but Shan Masood misses out.

Babar Azam, who began his T20 captaincy tenure in Australia last year, will continue leading the side. Elsewhere, Faheem Ashraf - who has spent most of the summer in the bio-bubble in England - is once again omitted from the playing squad.

Pakistan take on Leicestershire in a practice match on August 26 before facing England on August 28, 30 and September 1 at Emirates Old Trafford.

Pakistan's 17-man T20 squad: Babar Azam (c), Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz
