By prolonging his temporary stay at Wantage Road, Coles will be available for Northants Steelbacks’ first seven games of the T20 Blast
Essex bowler Matt Coles has had his loan deal at Northamptonshire extended by a further month.
Since joining Northants in June, the 29-year-old seamer has taken six wickets in three County Championship games, while he has also averaged 34.50 with the bat.
By prolonging his temporary stay at Wantage Road, Coles will be available for Northants Steelbacks’ first seven games of the T20 Blast.
The two-time winners kick off their campaign against Durham on July 19, while Coles will also be able to feature in Northants’ four-day game against Derbyshire.
Discussing the extension to his deal, Coles said: “I’m loving my time at Northants so it made sense for me to stay on for another month.
“I’ve settled in well and all the lads have made me feel really welcome, and I’m excited about the next four weeks’ worth of cricket with the Vitality Blast starting in a week or so.”
