Kane Williamson’s bowling action has been found to be legal, following an assessment that took place in October.

The New Zealand captain was initially reported during his side’s six-wicket defeat against Sri Lanka at Galle in August. He only bowled three overs of his off-spin and went wicketless in the match.

He subsequently underwent testing at Loughborough and it was found that his elbow extension remained within the permitted 15-degree limit.

This was the second time that Williamson's bowling action had been questioned. He had earlier been suspended from bowling in international cricket in July 2014.

On that occasion, he was allowed to resume bowling in December 2014 following remedial work and reassessment.

The batsman, named the player of the tournament at the summer’s World Cup, is currently sitting out his team’s T20I series against England with a hip problem.
