England international Fran Wilson has joined Kent from Middlesex after three years at the county.

Following Middlesex Women's relegation to Divison Two of the Women's County Championship in 2018, Wilson decided to join Kent in Division One in the hope of improving her international prospects.

The 27-year-old joined Middlesex from Somerset in 2015, and averaged 18.18 over 11 innings. She was also a part of the England squad which made the final of the ICC Women's World T20 2018.

Danni Warren, Middlesex's Head of Women's Cricket said: "Fran leaves Middlesex with all of our best wishes as she looks to further her England career.

"Since joining Middlesex in 2015 Fran has been a fantastic player, teammate and leader.

"On and off the field she has always led by example and her contribution to the development of Middlesex Women’s cricket, and the young players coming through, has been huge.

"Everyone at the club hopes to see her in an England shirt again soon, and understand her desire to be playing her 50 over cricket in Division One in order to achieve this.

"We wish her well in her future career".
