David Warner is back in the runs in Test cricket. After a tough Ashes tour, the opener looked comfortable back on home turf as he hit his 22nd Test century. The opener’s 154 against Pakistan came from 296 deliveries - the most the has faced in a Test innings.
At the tender age of 16 years and 281 days, it was Pakistan debutant Naseem Shah who finally brought Warner’s effort to a conclusion. The exciting youngster had the opener caught behind to pick up his maiden Test wicket.

South Africa-born Marnus Labuschagne followed Warner by registereing his maiden Test century on day three at the Gabba. The Australia No.3 cashed in after reaching three figures, hitting 185 off 279 deliveries as the hosts racked up 580. After 16 Test innings, Labuschagne has scored 748 runs at an average of 46.75.
Who else? Virat Kohli has become the first Indian cricketer to score a century in a pink-ball Test.
Earlier this week, the Test skipper, who hit 136 in India’s first innings at Eden Gardens, said, in regards to day-night cricket: “this should not become the only way Test cricket is played.”
Chris Green has landed himself the longest Big Bash deal in history after putting pen to paper on a six-year contract with Sydney Thunder. Green is not involved in state cricket in Australia, instead carving a career in T20 leagues across the globe.
Australian opener Chris Lynn has been wreaking havoc in the Abu Dhabi T10 League this week. The 29-year-old smashed the competition’s highest ever score, striking an unbeaten 91 off 30 deliveries against Team Abu Dhabi.
The Maratha Arabians batsman followed that effort with 61 off 31 against Karnataka Tuskers and 89 off 33 in a win over Delhi Bulls. At the conclusion of that match, Lynn had reeled off 265 runs at an average of 66.25 and strike rate of 245.37 in five innings.

England and Somerset batsman Tom Banton threatened to better Lynn’s effort’s, storming to 80 off 27 balls for Qalandars against Karnataka before being dismissed by Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane.
Somerset have been handed a 24-point deduction – with 12 of those points suspended for two years – as punishment for the pitch prepared at Taunton for the county’s effective title-decider against Essex.
