The Cricketer's Quarantine Cup draw revealed

The 11 competing counties have been split into two groups ahead of the competition which gets underway on April 12 - with player and commentator announcements on the way

The draw for the group stage of the inaugural Quarantine Cup has been made ahead of the competition starting on April 12.

Players from 11 first-class counties will battle it out this summer while playing PS4 game Cricket 19.

With the professional cricket season delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak, The Cricketer is delivering live lockdown cricket to fill the void.

The competing teams have been split into two groups, with the top two from each progressing to the semi-finals.

Group 1 contains Hampshire, Essex, Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.

Meanwhile, Sussex, Glamorgan, Surrey, Leicestershire and Kent make up Group 2.

The round-robin format will see teams play each other once in matches lasting five-overs-a-side.

The county players due to represent their team will be revealed this week, as well as the identity of a number of high-profile commentators from across the world of cricket.

Matches will be live-streamed on The Cricketer's YouTube channel. Matches will be staged on weekdays at 7pm and weekends at 2pm and 5pm.

The Cricketer's Quarantine Cup, which kicks off on Easter Sunday when the domestic season was due to commence, is the first event of an alternative summer schedule.

The National Corridor Cup, The Cricketer's Club Cricket Quest, Pub Quiz @ The Cricketer and Cricket Captains play Cricket Captain are just some of the competitions which will aim to keep you company at a time when many of us feel at our most detached.
