The Cricketer is pleased to announce award-winning cricket journalist Jarrod Kimber has joined the magazine as a columnist.

Jarrod will write a regular column for the magazine using his keen eye for the most interesting statistics that spring up from our favourite sport – beginning with our July issue, which is out today and can be bought here.

He has written five books on cricket, is a regular on talkSport, and also co-directed and co-wrote the award-winning 2015 documentary film Death of a Gentleman, which examined the governance of world cricket.

Jarrod has also worked as an analyst for teams including the St Lucia Stars and the Scotland national team.

Huw Turbervill, editor of The Cricketer, said: "Jarrod Kimber is one of the friendliest faces in the press box.

"A 44-year-old Melburnian who has lived in London for 16 years, he embraces the old and the new.

"As a journalist, whether it be with his writing, audio or video work, in features, blogs, podcasts and even feature films, he is imaginative, inventive, supremely knowledgeable, and unorthodox.

"He speaks like a machine gun, rat-a-tat-tatting ideas at you, and his monthly column, shot through with stats, is going to make riveting reading."
