Stuart Broad returns to Sky Sports' team for England men's home summer

Retirement from all cricket last summer has freed up Broad to have a full part in the broadcasters' coverage of bilateral series against Pakistan, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia

Sky Sports have added Stuart Broad to their punditry team for the duration of England men's home international summer.

Broad stepped away from professional cricket last summer following the fifth Ashes Test at the Kia Oval.

He has frequented Sky's coverage in recent years, largely for home white-ball internationals as well as The Hundred.

The 37-year-old will now feature as a central figure of the output across the summer, including during the Test series against West Indies - James Anderson's send-off is the first Test at Lord's - and Sri Lanka.

Starting with the pre-World Cup T20I series against Pakistan which begins at Headingley on Wednesday (May 22), Broad will also cover September's visit of Australia for eight limited-overs matches.

One of the worst-kept secrets on the circuit, a deal between England's second-highest Test wicket-taker and Sky, who have a monopoly on the home international summer, was reportedly agreed at the end of the season.

Last summer saw Broad bring the curtain down on a playing career punctuated by 167 Tests, 121 one-day internationals and 56 T20Is, across which he took more than 800 wickets.

The Sky commentary box continues to be awash with former England internationals including Nasser Hussain, Michael Atherton, Isa Guha, Ebony Rainford-Brent, Mark Butcher, Eoin Morgan and Lydia Greenway.
