The duo are added to the independent group, who are due to meet for the first time in 2020 in March in Sri Lanka
The MCC have added Sir Alastair Cook and Ricky Skerritt to their world cricket committee.
The former England captain and current West Indies cricket president are now part of the influential independent body, who meet to discuss major topics in the sport.
Cook retired from international cricket in 2018 but has continued to represent Essex alongside his increasingly growing media career.
Skerritt meanwhile was appointed the new head of WI cricket in March 2019, ending the hugely controversial reign of Dave Cameron.
MCC World Cricket committee chairman Mike Gatting said: "I am thrilled that Sir Alastair and Ricky have both accepted our invitation to join the MCC World Cricket committee.
"Alastair has enjoyed a wonderful career with England over a number of years and with him still playing domestically, he can give insight from a current players’ perspective, as well using his undisputable international experience.
"We have been keen for some time to appoint a new representative from the West Indies and I am delighted that Ricky will be joining us.
"His knowledge of the game from a West Indian perspective will be invaluable, and his work outside of the sport will also be advantageous to the committee."
The next meeting on the MCC cricket committee is scheduled for March in Sri Lanka when the topic of four-day Testss likely to be on the agenda.
Chaired by Gatting, the panel also includes BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly, ex-New Zealand, Australia and Sri Lanka captains Brendon McCullum, Ricky Ponting, and Kumar Sangakkara and Suzie Bates, a former two-time ICC women's ODI cricketer of the year.
