Sam Curran will play no further part in England’s ongoing intra-squad practice match after coming down ill overnight.

The allrounder had sickness and diarrhoea, though he was said to be feeling better on Thursday afternoon.

He has been self-isolating in his room at the Ageas Bowl and has been monitored by the team doctor throughout and was tested for Covid-19 earlier today.

In his absence, Team Buttler enjoyed a positive day in the field against Team Stokes, with wickets shared around for Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer, Mark Wood, Ollie Robinson, Dom Bess and Matt Parkinson.
