Captaining India in the absence of Virat Kohli in their second T20 international against the West Indies at Lucknow, the opener let loose and brought up his century in 58 balls
Rohit Sharma has set a new bar for destructive hitting as he became the first player to hit four T20 international centuries on Tuesday.
Captaining India in the absence of Virat Kohli in their second T20 international against the West Indies at Lucknow, the opener let loose on the West Indian attack, bringing up his century in 58 balls.
He finished the innings not out on 111, setting the West Indies a target of 196. In the process, he also overtook Kohli to become India's highest runscorer in T20 internationals when he hit a six over long off in the 5th over off Oshane Thomas.

He has scored 2203 runs in the format, which leaves him second in the overall rankings behind New Zealand's Martin Guptill on 2271.
Sharma's first century came in 2015 against South Africa when he smashed 106 off 66 at Dharamsala. He became the first Indian to score two T20I hundreds two years later when he battered a 35-ball century against Sri Lanka at Indore, still the joint-fastest in T20Is.
He joined an even more exclusive club in July 2018 when he hit 100 not out against England at Bristol and became only the second player to have hit three T20 international centuries. New Zealand's Colin Munro had previously been the sole member of the club.
