PLAYER RATINGS: Tammy Beaumont lights up Leicester, but Delissa Kimmince has the last laugh

NICK FRIEND: Beaumont strikes a peerless hundred and Kimmince steals in for five wickets, before Ellyse Perry leads Australia to glory

Amy Jones (5): A second successive failure with the bat for one of England's rising stars. Kept very tidily in Sarah Taylor's absence. 6

Tammy Beaumont (114): One of the best knocks you could wish to witness. A glorious mixture of touch and power on a pitch that few others got to grips with. Single-handedly, she gave England a fighting chance. 9

Heather Knight (17): Allowed to ease herself into the series with a slightly ponderous 47-ball knock only because of Beaumont's fluency at the other end. Led well in the field, especially after Katherine Brunt left the field. 5

Nat Sciver (15 & 0-21): Looked in decent nick - as well she might after her runs on Tuesday - before being trapped in front by Delissa Kimmince. 6

Fran Wilson (8): Ridiculously unfortunate on Tuesday, but out sweeping once again today. This was without argument as she swept Jess Jonassen to the boundary fielder. Not her best shot. 5

Katherin Brunt gave England a brief injury scare

Danni Wyatt (25): The victim of an excellent catch standing up from Alyssa Healy. She showed her value batting at six, scoring at a run a ball and making the decision to exclude her from the first ODI all the more bizarre. Her dismissal sparked an epic collapse. 6.5

Katherine Brunt (11 & 1-27): Her departure to an ankle problem will have scared the life out of her teammates. England near their talismanic allrounder. Her return to the field will add tome relief to a disappointing day. 6

Anya Shrubsole (12 & 3-47): Expensive with the ball and unusually wayward early on as the ball swung prodigiously, she fought back well with three key wickets. 7

Sophie Ecclestone (4 & 0-46): The left-arm spinner was unable to replicate her first ODI heroics with the bat, before she went wicketless with the ball. She has bowled better. 5

Laura Marsh (2 & 1-38): Outbowled her spin twin Ecclestone, taking a wicket and proving more economical. A good day at the office for the veteran off-spinner. 7

Kate Cross (0* & 1-37): Bowled with great heart, but struggled to find much assistance. 6

Alyssa Healy (9): The wicketkeeper-batsman looked in serious nick, before slashing Shrubsole to backward point. 5

Nicole Bolton (1): A poor stroke brought about her dismissal, flailing at a wide tempter from Cross. Not one she'll look back on fondly. 5

Meg Lanning (18): Like Healy, the skipper looks in ominously good nick, which will increase her frustration after being dismissed after making a start. Captained well as Australia fought back superbly in the field. 6.5

Ellyse Perry (62 & 1-40): Quite simply, a staggeringly good cricketer. Had the dangerous Jones dismissed early on, before knuckling down to produce a match-winning anchoring 62 8.5

Rachael Haynes (30): One of a number of Australia's middle order who played fleetingly key roles in taking the tourists to victory. 7

Beth Mooney (43*): A knock of immense maturity, mixing power with class to lead her team to a huge win. Excellent in the field earlier in the day. 8

Ashleigh Gardner (13 & 1-36): Took the big wicket of Heather Knight, she bowled tidily, fielded exceptionally and added some useful runs in a courageous chase. 6.5

Jess Jonassen (31* & 2-42): A pair of massive wickets, especially that of Tammy Beaumont, who was playing well enough to take England to a match-winning total. The left-arm spinner followed that up with a supreme finishing effort after coming in with 60 still needed. 8.5

Delissa Kimmince (5-26): An exceptional effort from something of a wildcard. When you get through Australia's spinners and the threat of Perry, Kimmince agave no let-up. A cracking display from the seamer. The third best figures by an Australian woman in an ODI against England. 9

Georgia Wareham (0-41): England played the leg-spinner well. At times, she could have varied her pace more often. 6

Megan Schutt (1-30): Stingy with the new ball, she returned with her array of slower deliveries and variations to dismiss the dangerous Wyatt just as England's T20 opener was setting herself for an assault on the bowling. 7.5
