The Surrey batsman believes he can make a real impression in limited-overs cricket for his country but concedes he is down the pecking order
England's Ollie Pope continues to harbour hopes of forcing his way into the white-ball teams but believes he will have to wait for his opportunity.
Thanks to a maiden century in South Africa, the 22-year-old is now a staple of the Test team - but he wants to play in all three formats.
That 135 not out in Port Elizabeth exhibited Pope's ability to be inventive at the crease as he toyed with The Proteas bowlers during a memorable performance.
Pope averages 37.55 in List A matches while in domestic T20s he scores at 28.30, with a strike-rate of 134.06.
But faced with breaking into a World Cup-winning 50-over side and a T20 team which possesses an explosive batting line up, the Surrey man admits he will have to be patient.
"My red-ball stats stand out but I broke into the Surrey team first of all as a white-ball player and I still fully back my ability to be a game-changer in white-ball cricket," he told Sky Sports.
"However, the batting line-up England have at the moment has every base covered - people who have been doing very well for a very long time.
"I will try to keep putting in performances and not worry too much what other people are doing, but I appreciate that the guys who have been unbelievably successful have those spots at the moment and that I might have to bide my time."
