Brisbane Heat have announced that they have agreed a new two-year deal with opening batsman Max Bryant.

The 19-year-old enjoyed an impressive debut BBL season, finishing second only to captain Chris Lynn in the Heat's run-scoring standards.

He also scored his first T20 half-century in their final match of the season against the Melbourne Stars, making 71 not out off just 30 balls.

After a strong campaign he is already in the top 500 of the T20 Player Index at number 460, four places above Australia Test opener Marcus Harris.

Heat general manager Andrew McShea said: "I think everyone who saw his batting this season would agree he is a special player and the performance that he and Ben Cutting put on against the Melbourne Stars in our last home game was quite extraordinary.

"We're delighted he has committed to the club long-term and believe he will provide plenty of enjoyment for our fans in the future. It's certainly exciting to add another Queensland player to our long-term playing roster."
