Gloucestershire have announced that Matt Taylor has signed a two-year contract extension at the club.

The 26-year-old left-arm bowler will stay at the club until the end of the 2022 season.

Speaking of his contract extension, Taylor said: “I am delighted to extend my contract with Gloucestershire. I love playing for this great club and feel as though we are moving in a positive direction.

“I hope I can contribute to us winning more trophies and having continued success on and off the field.”

Taylor, who came from Gloucestershire's academy, has been a key member of the side since making his List-A debut in 2011.

Since then, Taylor has gone on to take over 200 wickets for the county in all formats, including 29 in Gloucestershire promotion-winning County Championship campaign in 2019.

This year, he played a key role in the Bob Willis Trophy taking 11 wickets with best-figures of 3/43 against Gamorgan in Cardiff.

Gloucestershire head coach, Richard Dawson expressed his delight at the news.

“It’s great news that Matt has extended his contract at Gloucestershire. He’s been an important part of our bowling attack over the past few seasons and we look forward to continuing his development with the club,” he said.
