MCC have announced that a pair of new honours boards have been installed at Lord's which will commemorate ODI centuries and five-wicket hauls made at the famous ground.

Previously, only those who made it to three figures or took five wickets in a Test match received recognition, but now the same honour will be applied for both men's and women's ODIs.

Many famous names who never managed to make it on the fabled honours board during their Test careers will now be immortalised on the new boards.

This includes the likes of former England captain Michael Atherton, who made 127 against West Indies at Lord's in 1995, or Muttiah Muralitharan who took 5-34 against England in 1998.

With the addition of women's one-day international played at Lord's, Anya Shrubsole's magnificent 6-46 in the 2007 World Cup final is now finally memorialised along with likes of Sarah Taylor.

MCC chief executive and secretary Guy Lavender said: "We are delighted to now be able to recognise the same achievements for one-day internationals as we have done for Test matches for many years. This is a landmark moment for Lord's, with women's cricket now documented in the dressing rooms for the first time.

"The honours boards are amongst the most popular attractions for the many visitors to the Home of Cricket. There is a huge amount of prestige for players to see their name inscribed in history, so it is appropriate for a new installation of the boards to take place ahead of what will be such a busy year of cricket at Lord’s."
