The South African batsman had been due to link up with the county for the duration of the competition but the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has forced club and player to scrap the plans
Janneman Malan's proposed stint with Leicestershire Foxes in this year's T20 Blast has been cancelled.
The South African batsman had been due to link up with the county for the duration of the competition but the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has forced club and player to scrap the plans.
Leicestershire cited the 14-day quarantine process Malan would have to go through upon arrival in the UK, and the difficulties in making travel arrangements in the first place, as the primary reasons for the decision.

The intention is for Malan to team up with the Foxes in 2021, subject to a no objection certificate being granted by Cricket South Africa.
"We exhausted every avenue in trying to get Janneman into the country but issues out of our control have gone against us on this occasion," Leicestershire chief executive Sean Jarvis said.
"It is a big blow for us because everyone was looking forward to Janneman playing for us. We would love to see Janneman become a Running Fox in the future and wish him the best over the next few months."
