John Campbell suspended from bowling by Cricket West Indies

The 26-year-old and Jamaican Scorpions teammate Pete Salmon have been suspended for domestic matches with immediate effect and will undergo tests before being allowed to return to action

Cricket West Indies have suspended John Campbell from bowling for an indefinite period after he was adjudged to have an illegal action.

The 26-year-old was reported following the drawn match between Jamaican Scorpions and Trinidad and Tobago Red Force on January 9-12 during the first round of the West Indies Championship.

Campbell finished with match figures of 1-54 from 19 overs in Tarouba but his action is deemed to have exceeded the 15 degrees limit.

Scorpions teammate Pete Salmon has been hit with a similar reprimand after his action was pulled up during his first-class debut during the victory over Guyana Jaguars on February 6-9.

Salmon claimed 8-110 at Providence Stadium, which included a seven-wicket haul in the second innings as the visitors stormed to a seven-run success.

Both players are unable to bowl in domestic competitions until their actions are deemed to be legal again.

Their returns will have to be signed off either by a report from Loughborough University or after independent analysis from another accredited testing centre.

Campbell has played six Tests, six one-day internationals and two T20Is for the West Indies, while Salmon's senior career is only in its infancy.
