India to play warm-up match against County Select XI before England Test series

India will play a three-day warm-up match against a County Select XI ahead of their five-match Test series against England.

The match, which is scheduled to start on July 20 at Emirates Riverside in Durham, will features a number of players from the county cricket circuit.

According to a statement from Durham Cricket, the world number two-ranked Test side will use Emirates Riverside as the home venue for their preparations this summer.

Play will begin at 11am on July 20, with 90 overs scheduled per day.

The match will be played entirely behind closed doors but will be broadcast on both Durham’s YouTube channel and BBC radio.

England and India are scheduled to play a five-match Test series this summer as part of the 2021-23 World Test Championship cycle. The first Test is due to begin on August 4 at Trent Bridge, with the subsequent matches played at Lord’s, Emerald Headingley, The Oval and Emirates Old Trafford.
