Hardus Viljoen leaves Derbyshire by mutual consent

Derbyshire have accepted Hardus Viljoen's request to cancel the final year of his contract.

Viljoen, 29, has left the club by mutual consent after two years in Derby.

The one-time South Africa international played 53 times for the county across cricket's three formats, claiming 99 wickets.

Head of cricket Dave Houghton said: “Hardus wishes to look at different options to further his career and the decision was made to release him from his contract with Derbyshire

“I would like to wish him all the best for the future.”
