Glamorgan have agreed a one-year deal with veteran allrounder Graham Wagg for the 2020 campaign.

The 36-year-old, who was awarded a testimonial year in 2019, will now extend his career which began in 2000.

Wagg was a constant presence across all formats last term, playing 10 County Championship matches and making nine outings each in the One-Day Cup and T20 Blast.

Since moving to south Wales in 2011 he has taken 454 wickets and scored 5,804 runs in first-class matches.

“I’m delighted to extend my time at Glamorgan," said the ex-Warwickshire and Derbyshire man. "It’s been an honour to wear the daffodil and I’ve loved every second of being part of this fantastic club.

“I felt in really good form this year, especially with the bat, and it was great to be involved in all three competitions and put in good performances for the team.

“To play for Glamorgan means a lot to me – the fans are great, my family is settled here and I’m really excited about the direction the team is taking. I just want to keep giving it everything I’ve got for as long as I can.”

Director of cricket Mark Wallace added: “It’s great news for the Club that Graham has committed to Glamorgan for another year.

“He’s a very adaptable cricketer who can play across all three formats, in a variety of positions and roles.

“He’s one of the fittest members of the squad and retaining his experience for another season is excellent news for the club.”
