Pakistan have been using the venue as part of their preparations ahead of their men’s team's three-match Test series against England in August. Derbyshire's matches this season will, therefore, take place away from home

England Women will use Derbyshire’s Incora County Ground as their base for the remainder of the summer, training and playing all matches at the venue.

An exact schedule is still to be confirmed, with India no longer travelling in September for their part in a mooted tri-series with South Africa. A fixture list is set to be announced in the coming weeks.

The Cricketer understands that plans are now being made to extend that bilateral series with Dane van Niekerk’s side, who were also T20 World Cup semi-finalists in March.

The ECB has confirmed that Heather Knight’s team will play all games at Derbyshire’s home ground in 2020, with bio-secure training camps taking place beforehand. This also means that the county will play its matches away from home this summer.

This is what it means for us to go pro: The inside story of England's new domestic professional contracts

Derbyshire chief executive Ryan Duckett said: “England’s international fixtures are massively important to the whole game at all levels and we are pleased to have been chosen to host these high-profile training camps and matches this summer.

“The Incora County Ground has developed into a prominent venue for international cricket, including hosting the ICC Women’s World Cup in 2017 and most recently a bio-secure training camp for the touring Pakistan squad.

“This means that Derbyshire will play all matches away from home once the domestic season starts and this decision has been made with the full support of our coaching and playing staff.”
