Scorecard

ENGLAND

Jason Roy (1): Another cheap dismissal on the drive for Roy, who got a thick edge to slip going hard at a wide delivery. It’s been a tame series. 2

Jonny Bairstow (4): Bowled via the inside edge, and therefore unable to recreate his Saturday heroics. Kept tidily. 2

James Vince (16 & 0-20): More in-and-outs than an American fast food map. A couple of drops in the field. Will this failure be his last in an England ODI shirt? 2

Eoin Morgan (106): This was the England skipper at his explosive best. Treated just about everything with disdain. Dropped on 67. 9

Tom Banton (58): Gave a much better impression of what he offers this England side. Rotated the strike well, scored beyond a strike rate of 100 and picked off the bad ball nicely. 7.5

Sam Billings (19): Could not build on his excellent performances in the first two matches, and miscued a drive to mid-on. 3.5

Moeen Ali (1 & 0-51): The short ball did for England’s vice-captain again, capping a miserable series with the bat. Went wicketless. 2

David Willey (50 & 1-70): The man of the series obliged once more. Combative and quick-scoring, the Irish have had no answer to him. Not as effective with the ball, as Stirling and Balbirnie got to grips with him. 6.5

Tom Curran (38* & 0-67): Played the anchor to Willey’s sword, and then accelerated when he only had Mahmood for company. Could not keep a handle on the Irish chase. 5

Adil Rashid (3 & 1-61): Run out in pursuit of late runs. With the ball, much more expensive than in the first two matches. 4

Saqib Mahmood (12 & 0-58): Threw the bat well late on. Unable to find a breakthrough with the ball. 4

IRELAND

Paul Stirling (142): A masterful, monstrous hundred which set Ireland on the way to a memorable win. 9.5

Gareth Delany (12 & 1-29): Struggled to get going and in his hurry to accelerate gave his wicket away walking across his stumps. Six good overs with the ball. 6

Andrew Balbirnie (113): Dragged himself out of a tough patch of a form with a perfectly judged ton. Leadership by example. 9

Harry Tector (29*): Managed the end of the chase well, not letting a handful of dot balls bother him. Important innings. 7

Kevin O’Brien (21*): Ireland got exactly the man they wanted in the closing role. Helped guide Tector through. 7

Lorcan Tucker (DNB): Not needed with the bat, but sound with the gloves. 5

Curtis Campher (DNB & 2-68): Much more expensive than in the first two matches of the series with the ball, but still proved a wicket-taker. 6

Andy McBrine (DNB & 0-61): Asked to do a difficult job when England were flying and proved to be quite expensive. 4

Mark Adair (DNB & 1-45): Perhaps a little rusty after a time out. Claimed the wicket of Bairstow but couldn’t follow it up. 6

Craig Young (DNB & 3-53): Ireland’s most consistently threatening bowler of the series was consistent and threatening once again. 7

Josh Little (DNB & 2-62): Aggressive once again, and did not let up in the face of tough treatment from Morgan. 6.5
