Cricket Scotland chief executive Malcolm Cannon is to step down from his role at the organisation.
Cannon, who has overseen Scotland’s national cricketing body for the last four years, will leave his post in September.
During Cannon’s tenure, Scottish cricket has enjoyed growth within its grassroots structure, including in girls’ and women’s cricket, while Scotland’s most famous victory – the thrilling six-run triumph over England in 2018 – also came under his watch.
Tony Brian, chair of Cricket Scotland, said: "We will be sad to lose Malcolm who has made a major difference to the organisation and cricket in Scotland during his period of office. We wish him the very best in the next phase of his career and hope he will still join us on the boundary when he can.
"The role of chief executive offers a really exciting opening for someone to build on our success and make their mark on the game in Scotland and internationally. We believe that, with the progress made in the last four years, the role will attract a wide range of very capable candidates to drive forward Cricket Scotland’s ambitious strategy.
Cannon added: "It has been a huge honour to be part of Cricket Scotland these past four years and a privilege to work with an exceptionally dedicated and skilled team who lead the sport with pride and belief. I am proud of what we have accomplished as a team on behalf of our stakeholders and of the increased presence we have achieved on a global level.
"I am convinced that Cricket Scotland will continue to be an increasingly strong force in world sport and that it can achieve its ambitious aims. I wish everyone all the success in the world and I shall watch progress from the boundary with a sense of pride and belonging."
