The Big Bash match between the Brisbane Heat and the Sydney Thunder was abandoned in the second innings of the match when a number of lights at the Gabba failed, leaving over 26,000 supporters short-changed
Fans who attended the Big Bash match at the Gabba which was abandoned due to a power outage on Thursday have been offered free entry for any day of the day-night Test at the same ground.
The match between the Brisbane Heat and the Sydney Thunder was abandoned in the second innings of the match when a number of lights at the ground failed, leaving over 26,000 supporters short-changed.
To recompense the fans, Cricket Australia and Queensland have offered those in attendance free entry to any single day of the first Test between Australia and Sri Lanka, which is also being played at the Gabba, and starts on January 24.
The match between the Brisbane Heat and the Sydney Thunder was abandoned due to a power outage
"Last night's match was unable to be completed due to an external power issue that was outside the control of the Brisbane Heat and Cricket Australia," said head of fan engagement Anthony Everard.
"We are now working with Stadiums Queensland to investigate why this occurred, and to ensure there will be no further issues at future matches.
"Under Cricket Australia's established terms and conditions, the 23 overs of play including the full innings of the Thunder meant that refunds are not applicable in this instance.
"However, the Heat and Cricket Australia would like to extend an offer to fans to attend next week's day-night first Domain Test match between Australia and Sri Lanka at the Gabba for free."

What is the process for receiving tickets to the first test? I was at the abandoned BBL game on Thursday evening. I have not received any notification emails from Cricket Australia or Ticketek on how to obtain tickets. Maybe you can put this in your post. Thanks Marc
