The two Birmingham Phoenix teams in The Hundred will have Craig Flindall as their general manager.

The Warwickshire COO will oversee the management of both Phoenix sides, who will be coached by Andrew McDonald (men’s) and Ben Sawyer (women’s) respectively.

Upon his appointment, Flindall said: "The Hundred is a tremendously exciting proposition for the sport.

"I’m delighted to be appointed in this key role for Birmingham Phoenix and to have the opportunity to help manage men’s and women’s teams that we hope can attract and inspire thousands of people from this great city and region to get involved in the game."

Flindall will report to Warwickshire CCC Chief Executive, Neil Snowball, and Worcestershire CCC Chief Executive, Matt Rawnsley, who make up Birmingham Phoenix Team Board.

Rawnsley added: "Craig’s appointment as GM for the Birmingham based Phoenix Team means we have someone with a skillset covering Finance and Operations combined with a genuine passion for the sport."

The Hundred Player Draft takes place on Sunday October 20.

See what happened when eight sets of cricket journalists were called upon to test the draft system, to put something tangible to a much-maligned concept, to pick a squad worthy of all that The Hundred needs to achieve.
