Chris Jordan believes Jofra Archer will return from the stress fracture in his right elbow better than ever.

The 24-year-old missed the back-end of England's tour of South Africa and has been ruled out of the Sri Lanka Tests and the Indian Premier League.

But international and Sussex colleague Jordan believes the injury could end up being the making of Archer.

"Jof is a big, big talent and he's like a little brother to me," he told ESPNcricinfo. "He's obviously disappointed to be missing some cricket at this point but he understands that that is part of life at this stage.

"It will be a good test for his character. I'm pretty certain that he'll come back stronger than ever."

Jordan and Archer are expected to be under consideration to lead England's attack at the T20 World Cup in Australia.

Currently playing in the Pakistan Super League for Karachi Kings, Jordan is refusing to look too far ahead.

"To be honest I've not given the World Cup too much thought only because there is so much cricket to play between now and then," he added. "That's how I try to operate, on a day-to-day basis.

"If you start to think too far ahead you can lose sight and you can lose concentration on the task at hand that is in front of you.

"If we're playing our best cricket hopefully we'll be selected in the squad but my sole focus is what is in front of me right now."
