Northamptonshire have confirmed the departure of three further first-team players following the conclusion of the 2020 season.

Blessing Muzarabani, Brett Hutton and Tom Sole are all scheduled to leave Wantage Road.

Muzarabani, who joined in 2019, has seen his Kolpak contract cancelled with one year remaining and will return to his Zimbabwe homeland to reignite his international career.

The right-arm quick bowler took 24 wickets across all formats during his two complete seasons with Northants.

"Blessing has been a victim of the rule changes on Kolpak players," said coach David Ripley

"It didn’t quite work out as we planned but he is young and will get other opportunities, I feel he will be a better cricketer for his two years with us."

Allrounder Hutton is set to join a rival county side after turning down the offer of a new contract.

Sole came through the Northamptonshire academy

Since joining from Nottinghamshire in 2018 he has taken 98 wickets and made two outings last season in the Bob Willis Trophy.

Sole, meanwhile, came through the Northamptonshire academy, signing professional terms in 2018.

However, his spell has been truncated and after making just three T20 Blast appearances this term the decision has been taken for the Scotland allrounder to move on.

"It’s been a tough 12 months for Tom and we are fully committed to working with Cricket Scotland to get him cleared to bowl again,” Ripley added.

"I still feel he is good enough to make it in the county game but we have several spin bowling all-rounders vying for the same spot."

The trio join Rob Newton in leaving the club after the batsman was told he would not be offered a new contract.
