The 28-year-old is eligible for the Foxes in their opening two Bob Willis Trophy matches against Lancashire and Derbyshire
Leicestershire have signed Nottinghamshire batsman Ben Slater on loan for the first two weeks of the domestic season.
The-28-year-old will be available for the Bob Willis Trophy clashes against Lancashire and Derbyshire.
Slater, who moved to Trent Bridge from Derbyshire in 2018, scored 601 runs in 14 first-class matches last term.
He featured for Notts in pre-season but their deluge of batting resources means he is not needed for the start of the campaign.
"We are delighted to that announce Ben will be joining us on loan," said Leicestershire coach Paul Nixon.
"Ben scored over 1,100 runs in the championship a couple of years ago. He is a high class player who our young players will learn a great deal from.
"It’s a really exciting time for the club and it’s great to have Ben join us as a Running Fox.
"I’d like to thank Nottinghamshire CCC for their support in the move for Ben."
