The 32-year-old has been playing second XI cricket this season but has moved to the Ageas Bowl on a temporary deal
Hampshire have confirmed the loan signing of batsman Arun Harinath from Surrey for the rest of the season.
The 32-year-old has not made a single first-class appearance for the county champions this term, instead of being farmed out to their second XI.
In eight innings, Harinath has managed three half-centuries but will be hoping for more Championship opportunities on the south coast.
He is in line to make his Hants debut for their second XI against Gloucestershire in their four-day clash starting on Tuesday, July 9.
Nicknamed 'The Baron', Harinath has scored 3,870 first-class runs at an average of 30.96 for Surrey with six centuries and 21 fifties.
