The former England batsman has spent more than two decades with the White Rose and his commitment will be recognised in 2020
Yorkshire batsman Adam Lyth has been given a testimonial year for the 2020 season.
The 31-year-old first joined the club aged 11, making his first-team debut in 2007 and going on to win two County Championship titles.
In 174 first-class fixtures he had amassed 10,634 runs, including 23 centuries. His domestic success has also seen him play seven Tests for England and win the Ashes in 2015.
“I’m really proud to be given a testimonial at the club,” he said.
“I started out at the club as an 11-year-old and to go right through the age-groups and play for the Academy on a weekend, then to go one step further and play in the 2nd XI, to make my first-team debut and to go on and have a successful career for Yorkshire; it’s incredible!

“It was nice to tick that 10,000 run milestone off recently and I had a chat with Martyn Moxon and Andrew Gale at the start of the season and they informed me that they would reward me with a testimonial, which I’m over the moon with. I hope to have a successful testimonial year both on and off the field.”
During 2019, Lyth has enjoyed a fruitful campaign scoring 778 runs at 35.36, with seven half-centuries. He also remains a trusted figure in the slip cordon, having taken 26 catches behind the stumps.
