Malinda Pushpakumara joined an elite club by claiming all 10 wickets in a single first-class innings during a domestic match in Sri Lanka.

Pushpakumara, the international left-arm spinner, returned the joint 13th best figures in first-class history - for 11-a-side matches - while playing for Colombo Cricket Club against Saracens Sports Club in Moratuwa.

He claimed a remarkable 10-37 to dismiss Saracens for 113 in their second innings, securing a 235-run victory for his team in the process.

Malinda Pushpakumara claimed 10 wickets in an innings for Colombo

The stats are the best in first-class cricket in more than 23 years - Naeem Akhtar took 10-28 for Rawalpindi Blues against Peshawar in Pakistan in 1995 - and the best ever by a Sri Lankan.

Strangely, an opponent from the Saracens side almost completed the feat earlier in the match.

Chamikara Edirisinghe, another left-arm spinner, took nine wickets in an innings before being denied the full set by team-mate Ashen Bandara.

Pushpakumara, meanwhile, also passed 700 first-class scalps during the match. He finished the game against Saracens with tremendous match figures of 16-110.
