Middlesex have appointed Nic Pothas as Stuart Law's assistant coach.
The South African, who worked alongside Law with West Indies, will join up with the club immediately.
Pothas amassed over 11,000 runs in his first-class career, averaging 40.85, and enjoyed a successful spell with Hampshire which coincided with the club winning the One-Day Cup twice (2005 & 2009) and the T20 Cup in 2010.
In his post-playing days, the 45-year-old has held roles with the Guernsey Cricket Board, as director of cricket, as well as fielding coach and interim head coach with Sri Lanka before working with Law in the Caribbean.
Pothas in his Hampshire days
Middlesex director of cricket, Angus Fraser, said: "Stuart Law was always keen to link up again with Nic and when he became available, we moved quickly. Nic's energy, desire and commitment is huge and he and Stuart complement each other extremely well.
"Stuart, Nic and Alan Coleman give Middlesex Cricket a coaching team to be extremely proud of. Their presence has already provided and produced great energy, skill and enthusiasm to our cricket."
Pothas added: "It is a great honour to be joining arguably the most prestigious club in England, steeped in history and success.
"I’m looking forward to joining a great group of players and staff in bringing success to Middlesex Cricket and their supporters as well as renewing a working relationship with Stuart Law, with whom I share an aligned philosophy to improving players and environments.
