Holder suffered his injury during his spell at Worcestershire in the County Championship
Former West Indies captain Jason Holder has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup with an injury sustained during his County Championship stint with Worcestershire.
Holder, the seam-bowling allrounder, has been replaced by left-arm quick Obed McCoy.
Desmond Haynes, the lead selector for Cricket West Indies, described the enforced change as "unfortunate" but talked up McCoy as having "remarkable skill and promise in his performances".
Darren Sammy, West Indies' white-ball head coach, added: "We are fortunate to have such depth and quality in our ranks.
"Our reserve players are all A-class talents who have proven their abilities in various formats of the game, but certainly T20.

"Each one of them is fully capable of slotting into the team seamlessly should the situation arise."
West Indies, who begin their campaign as co-hosts against Papua New Guinea, have named Andre Fletcher, Hayden Walsh, Kyle Mayers, Matthew Forde and Fabian Allen as five standby players to a 15-strong squad captained by Rovman Powell.
West Indies squad: Rovman Powell, Alzarri Joseph, Johnson Charles, Roston Chase, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Brandon King, Obed McCoy, Gudakesh Motie, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd
