New Zealand have named their squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup, with Finn Allen and Michael Bracewell among the new faces.

The Black Caps have made three changes to the squad which reached the final in 2021, with Lockie Ferguson – ruled out of last year's tournament with a calf tear – the other addition.

Kyle Jamieson, Todd Astle and Tim Seifert are the three players to drop out of the squad while both Trent Boult and Jimmy Neesham, both of whom recently turned down central contracts, have retained their spots.

Kane Williamson will once again captain New Zealand.

Bracewell is perhaps the only surprise name in the squad, with the 31-year-old making his T20I debut as recently as July 2022. In eight outings, he has picked up nine wickets and recorded an economy of 5.59 with his right-arm spin and scored 89 runs at a strike rate of 206.97, including one half-century.

Allen, meanwhile, recently earned his maiden central contract and is one of the rising stars of T20 cricket, featuring in the T20 Blast and The Hundred.

New Zealand have been placed in Group 1 in the Super 12s, alongside England, Afghanistan, Australia and two qualifiers.

They will kick off their 2022 campaign with a repeat of last year's final, facing Australia at the SCG on October 22.

Squad: Kane Williamson (c), Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Mitchell Santner, Glenn Phillips, Jimmy Neesham, Daryl Mitchell, Adam Milne, Martin Guptill, Lachlan Ferguson, Devon Conway, Mark Chapman, Michael Bracewell, Trent Boult, Finn Allen
