Neil Dexter, Ateeq Javid and Aadil Ali have left Leicestershire after their contracts were not renewed at the end of the season.

Former Middlesex man Dexter joined the club ahead of the 2016 season, scoring 2,284 runs for the club while also taking 64 wickets.

Javid, meanwhile, arrived at Grace Road from Warwickshire two years ago. He went on to play 24 appearances for the club.

Ali, a graduate of the club’s academy, made his first-team debut in 2015, going on to score 639 runs in first-class cricket at an average of 26.62.

Leicestershire head coach Paul Nixon said: “It’s always difficult at this time of year, and Neil and Ateeq are good people who have given good service to Leicestershire County Cricket Club. We wish them every success in the future.”

Meanwhile, there are new deals for batsman Harry Dearden and left-arm seamer Dieter Klein, as well as for the former academy pairing of Sam Evans and Harry Swindells.

Swindells’ new deal is a two-year agreement, while Evans, who has now graduated from Loughborough University, has penned a one-year extension.

Dearden has also agreed a new two-year contract, while Klein has signed on for a further season.
