Chris Wright has committed his future to Leicestershire after signing a contract extension with the club.

Wright joined Leicestershire from Warwickshire ahead of the 2019 season and has opened the bowling since.

Leicestershire signed him for his knowledge and experience. He has helped transform the side in the last two years and has played a part in supporting the younger players.

The 35-year-old has taken more wickets than anybody at the club since his arrival, claiming 51 scalps in his first season with best match figures of 7-131.

In 2019, he was the club's most used red-ball bowler - bowling 424.2 overs averaging under 30 per wicket and had ane economy rate of 3.42.

2020 was a different story for Wright. He only featured twice in the Bob Willis Trophy due to injury, taking five wickets.
