Kent have lured Afghanistan allrounder Mohammad Nabi back to the club for next season's T20 Blast.

The 34-year-old spent last term at Canterbury, scoring 147 runs and taking eight wickets in nine outings for the Spitfires.

Nabi will feature in the competition ahead of the inaugural edition of The Hundred, having been drafted by London Spirit.

"I very much enjoyed my first season with Kent and I am pleased to be coming back for another year of the Vitality Blast," said Nabi, who has played three Tests, 124 one-day internationals and 72 T20s for Afghanistan.

"There’s lots of quality in the team so hopefully we can do well.

Director of cricket Paul Downton added: "We're delighted to have secured Nabi's services for a second year. To do well in the Blast, you need a number of match-winners, and Nabi showed us what he is capable of last year.

"His ability to bowl at any stage of the innings and to hit the ball out of the park when he bats makes him one of the most exciting players in world cricket.

"He fitted into our environment really well and to have him with us for the entirety of the South Group in 2020 is a boost to the whole squad."
