The ex-England and Warwickshire batsman retired at the end of last season but is back in the game in a coaching capacity
Ex-England batsman Jonathan Trott will make-up part of the Kent coaching team for the upcoming Royal London One-Day Cup.
The 37-year-old called time on his cricket career at the end of last season, leaving Warwickshire after 15 years at Edgbaston.
But the Spitfires have enlisted Trott for their entire 50-over campaign as they aim to go one better than last season, which saw them reach the Lord's final where they lost to Hampshire.
He said: “It’s a great opportunity for me to join a team such as Kent for this competition.
“Their run to the Final last year shows that the squad here is one of the strongest in one-day format and I’m looking forward to working with this talented group of players.”
Director of cricket Paul Downton, added: “Jonathan’s experience in this format of the game will be a valuable asset to complement our coaching team here for the Royal London One-Day Cup.”
Kent begin their white-ball campaign with a repeat of last year's final against holders Hants in Canterbury on April 17.
