What's the match?

Sunrisers Hyderabad take on Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match will be played Sunday, May 22 with play starting at 7.30pm local time (3pm GMT).

Where is the match being played?

The game will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Who's got the form?

The last group game of IPL 2022 is a dead rubber between the competition's two most inconsistent teams.

Sunrisers Hyderabad are the IPL's streakiest team having lost their first two, then going on a five-game winning run, then losing their next five until they arrested the slide with victory over Mumbai Indians last time out.

By contrast, Punjab Kings have failed to put together back-to-back wins this season, losing seven and winning six of their 13 group games.

SRH won the battle between these two earlier in the season by seven wickets. Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran showed rare form to finish the match well after new fast bowling sensation Umran Malik took 4 for 28.

The contrast in form of PBKS’ England overseas has matched their inconsistent results. Liam Livingstone has had an excellent season and is 12th top scorer in the competition. No one has scored more runs at a higher strike rate.

He has also taken six wickets and been a useful sixth bowling option for Mayank Agarwal’s side. Meanwhile, Jonny Bairstow’s form has picked up of late – 66 and 56 against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals respectively – but finds himself 37th on the overall list after an initial run of low scores.

What's the key match-up?

Livingstone has an excellent record against pace and they do not come much quicker than Umran Malik. The cleanest six-hitter against the fastest bowler of IPL 2022 is a match-up not to be missed.

Elsewhere, Rahul Chahar against Kane Williamson will be an intriguing battle. With both sides’ bowling stronger this season than their batting, Williamson’s speciality of chasing low to middling scores will be needed.

Head-to-head record

Matches played: 19

Sunrisers Hyderabad wins: 13

Punjab Kings wins: 6

What's the weather forecast?

A warm day is expected in Mumbai, with highs of 33 degrees Celsius, falling to 30 degrees by first ball of the match.

What are the odds?

The bookies make Punjab Kings favourites for this match with 10/11 odds. SRH are 42/41 to win tomorrow.

What's the prediction?

Neither side have anything but pride to play for in their last match of the IPL group phase. Punjab Kings have the form and are more likely to win this one.

But it is worth switching on for when Bairstow and Livingstone are at the crease, giving everyone a taste of what to expect in England’s white-ball internationals this summer.
