Rahul Tewatia and David Miller combine to cement the Titans' position at the top of the table after an eighth group win
Mumbai: Royal Challengers Bangalore 170-6, Gujarat Titans 174-4 - Gujarat Titans won by six wickets
Gujarat Titans pulled another rabbit out of the hat to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore following another thrilling turnaround in Mumbai.
The newcomers were reduced to 95 for 4 in the 13th over and then needed 61 from 34 balls to win but an inspired fifth-wicket partnership between left-handers David Miller (39*) and Rahul Tewatia (43*) worth 79 secured victory with three balls to spare.
RCB had earlier put on 170 for 6 from their 20 overs thanks to a first half-century of the tournament from Virat Kohli (58) and 52 for Rajat Patidar.
It was a steady innings, held up by Faf du Plessis (0) being dismissed without scoring in the second over, but Glenn Maxwell provided some acceleration before his 18-ball 33 was ended by Lockie Ferguson.
Pradeep Sangwan claimed 2 for 19, while Rashid Khan picked up Dinesh Karthik (2).
Titans built a decent platform from which to build, with Wriddhiman Saha (29), Shubman Gill (31) and Sai Sudharsan (20) all getting starts.

But when Hardik Pandya was dismissed for just three and Sudharsan succumbed to Wandindu Hasaranga the chase looked in dire straits.
Successive boundaries for Miller off Hasaranga and Tewatia off Mohammed Siraj got things started but the pair were unable to find the rope in the 17th over bowled by Harshal Patel.
The key moment came as Titans took 17 runs from Josh Hazlewood's third over, as Tewatia flicked him over fine-leg and then lashed the ball through cover.
He crunched a second maximum off Harshal at the end of the 19th and with seven needed when Hazlewood returned Tewatia sealed the win with another cover drive.
Another thrilling run-chase, similar to that against Sunrisers Hyderabad when 50 came off the last three overs, is the Titans' eighth of the season and fifth in a row and keeps them top of the table.
Meanwhile, RCB are the definition of inconsistency with five wins and five defeats from the campaign so far leaving them outside the playoff positions.
