Who's got the form?

Mumbai Indians kicked off their pursuit of a sixth title with a defeat to Delhi Capitals in a repeat of the 2020 final.

Marquee auction addition Ishan Kishan hit 81 not out as MI put on a formidable 177 for 5 from their 20 overs.

But Capitals, without a number of their stand-out overseas players, stormed to victory with 10 balls to spare thanks to quick runs from Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel.

Rajasthan Royals have also only played one game so far as well, but their fortunes were somewhat different beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 61 runs to top the table.

They made the highest score so far, hitting 210 for 6 with captain Sanju Samson smashing a 27-ball 51.

In the chase, Hyderabad were reduced to 9 for 3 and then 78 for 6 as Trent Boult and Prasidh Krishna took two wickets each.

What's the key match-up?

There was much excitement around Mumbai Indians' pace attack, after an auction during which they added Jofra Archer and Tymal Mills to Japrit Bumrah.

Archer will not be available until 2023 at the earliest, but the match against Delhi Capitals was the first opportunity to see Mills and Bumrah in tandem.

But it was a far from an ideal maiden outing for the pair, after they went for nine fours and two sixes from 6.2 overs.

They'll be faced with a Royals line-up that hit form against Hyderabad, with all of the top six reaching double figures.

Shimron Hetmyer hit two fours and three sixes on his way to scoring 32 from 13 balls - a strike rate of 246.15.

The West Indies batter has picked up from where he left off at the end of the last IPL, when he struck 242 runs at a strike rate of 168.05.
