Kumar Kartikeya replaces Arshad Khan at Mumbai Indians

The left-arm spinner has made eight career T20 appearances, taking nine wickets

Mumbai Indians have signed Kumar Kartikeya as a replacement for the injured Arshad Khan for the remainder of the 2022 IPL.

Arshad, an uncapped left-arm seamer, was yet to feature in a game this season.

Left-arm spinner Kartikeya was with Mumbai Indians as part of the support team and joins the playing squad for 20 lakh (approximately £21,000).

The 24-year-old has just eight T20 appearances under his belt, picking up nine wickets for Madhya Pradesh. His career economy is 5.37.

He has also played nine first-class matches and a further 19 List A matches, picking up a combined 53 wickets.

Mumbai Indians are yet to win a match in this season’s IPL, suffering eight consecutive defeats. Their next match is against Rajasthan Royals on April 30.
