The pair of arrivals follow the recent announcement of Brendon McCullum as the Indian Premier League side’s new head coach
Kolkata Knight Riders have appointed David Hussey as their chief mentor, with Kyle Mills also joining the franchise as bowling coach.
The pair of arrivals follow the recent announcement of Brendon McCullum as the Indian Premier League side’s new head coach.
Hussey, who played franchise T20 cricket all over the world, represented KKR between 2008 and 2010 – one of three IPL franchises he turned out for.
He joins his brother, Michael, in holding a backroom role in the competition; he has been Chennai Super Kings’ batting coach since January 2018.
Mills, meanwhile, is a long-time teammate of McCullum in international cricket. Only Daniel Vettori took more ODI wickets for the Black Caps than the former right-arm seamer.
“It's great to welcome David Hussey and Kyle Mills to the Knight Riders Family,” Venky Mysore, chief executive and managing director of KKR, said.
“They bring a wealth of experience as professionals and are terrific individuals. We are confident that their contribution as part of the think tank of KKR, and to the KKR academy, will be invaluable.”
