What's the match?

Delhi Capitals take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2023 Indian Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to start at 7.30pm local time (3pm BST) on Thursday, April 20.

Where is the match being played?

The match will be played at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi.

Who's got form?

Delhi Capitals are really struggling this year, with David Warner's side playing and losing five matches. Their latest loss came against RCB when they restricted a star-studded batting lineup to 174 but failed to impress in their chase. Manish Pandey scored 50 runs off 38 balls but only two of his teammates passed 20.

For KKR, their season has seen some ups and downs, losing three off their five games. In their last match, they failed to beat Mumbai Indians, losing by five wickets. Batting first, they put on a respectable 186 runs but fell short with the ball, with Suyash Sharma the only player to impress.

What's the team news?

There are currently no fresh injury concerns for either sides.

However, Delhi Capitals' pre-match preparations have been far from ideal. Following their defeat to RCB, some of the team's equipment has gone missing during transit, including 16 cricket bats.

What's the key matchup?

Delhi Capitals are still looking to register their first win of the season but will find it hard coming up against this season's second-highest run-scorer, Venkatesh Iyer, who has scored 234 runs in the last five matches at an average of 46.80.

The Capitals have an in-form batter of their own in Warner, who has 228 runs in five outings, so this could be a high-scoring clash.

However, when we look at the bowling matchups for both teams, it isn't as close as the batting department with Kolkata Knight Riders dominating the heads to head figures. For KKR, Chakravarthy has taken seven wickets while Sunil Narine and Sharma have six apiece.

Delhi Capitals will have to produce an excellent performance in Thursday's game if they are to have any chance of coming away with a win.

Head-to-head record

Matches played: 31

Delhi Capitals wins: 14

Kolkata Knight Riders wins: 16

What's the weather forecast?

Cloudy and humid conditions are expected on Thursday evening in Delhi.

Prediction?

This could be another loss for the Delhi Capitals, who currently look a completely different side to the one which reached the final two years ago. KKR look too powerful with their top-notch spin bowlers combined with top-scorer Iyer looking to add to his already impressive batting displays so far. KKR win.
