What's the match?

Chennai Super Kings take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2023 Indian Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to start at 7.30pm local time (3pm BST) on Sunday, May 14.

Where is the match being played?

The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Who's got form?

This is a big game as Chennai Super Kings look to continue their winning ways and avoid a playoff fight.

The Super Kings, who are in second place, have won their past two games relatively easily, against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, respectively. Chennai's bowling attack starred against the Capitals with Deepak Chahar dismissing both David Warner and Phil Salt and Matheesha Pathirana taking three wickets.

Kolkata Knight Riders have had a mixed season so far and find themselves in seventh place, only two points outside the top four but having played a game more than RCB and Punjab Kings. Jason Roy has been in good form for KKR, helping them to recent victories over Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, KKR did lose their most recent outing against Rajasthan Royals.

What's the team news?

KKR's Shardul Thakur has confirmed he is not injured but has not been bowling much for KKR as the side is "full of allrounders".

Ben Stokes is still injured for Chennai with no indication that he will be looking to return for this game.

What's the key matchup?

CSK's talented seam attack must make sure they do not allow Jason Roy to settle. If they do then the England opening batter could take the game away from them and give KKR's big-hitting middle order a platform to explode off in the final few overs.

Head-to-head record

Matches played: 29

Chennai Super Kings wins: 19

Kolkata Knight Riders wins: 10
