The three-time champions franchise has retained 18 players, and released 10 players, with four international players among them
The Mumbai Indians have announced who they are releasing and keeping ahead of the Indian Premier League 2019 player auction.
The franchise has retained 18 players, and released 10 players, including Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins, South Africa allrounder JP Duminy and Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman.
Cummins, who has played 14 Tests and 18 T20Is for Australia, was bought by the three-time champions for 5.40 crore (around £587k) at the 2018 player auction, but was ruled out ahead of the tournament with a back injury.
Conversely, fellow Australian quick Jason Behrendorff, who was also ruled out of IPL 2018 without featuring, has been retained in the squad.
Pat Cummins did not feature in IPL 2018 due to injury
Both Duminy and Rahman did actually feature in the tournament, with the former scoring 36 runs in 6 matches, and the latter recorded a poor return of 7 wickets at an average of 32.85.
Rahman was signed for 2.20 crore (about £239k), while Duminy was purchased for 1.00 crore (108k), and both were deemed surplus to requirements ahead of the new season.
