Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders: 127, Delhi Capitals 128-6 - Delhi Capitals won by four wickets

Delhi Capitals finally got off the mark in the Indian Premier League, claiming their first tournament victory against Kolkata Knight Riders at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Player of the match Ishant Sharma claimed 2 for 19 as KKR were dismissed for 127 in 20 overs.

Jason Roy top-scored with 43 and had it not been for some late fireworks from Andre Russell (38 not out) it could have been far worse.

An elusive win at the sixth time of asking looked likely when DC made an encouraging start in the chase, reaching 38 without loss in the fifth over.

Prithvi Shaw (13), Michael Marsh (2) and Phil Salt (5) fell cheaply but David Warner's 57 took them past the halfway mark.

Impact substitute Anukul Roy took 2 for 19 and when Nitish Rana removed Aman Hakim Khan (0) Capitals still needed 15 from 22 balls with three wickets in hand.

Just eight came from the next two overs, leaving them needing seven off the final set. But any drama was sapped from the chase as Kulwant Khejroliya delivered a no-ball and then Axar Patel found the gap to register the remaining two runs needed.

The result does little to enhance either side's position in the table. KKR remain eighth with after their third loss in a row, while DC's first points of the campaign are not enough to lift them off the bottom.
